On Peninsula, a solo exhibition by Adam Powers MFA '21, expresses the artist's admiration for Portland through architecturally focused documentary street photography of walls and curbside scenes throughout the Peninsula.
The photographs draw inspiration from geometric abstraction and capture the areas where nature, time, and human interaction shape the built environment. With their intentionally detached and objective perspective, the meticulously arranged images allow the ordinary and imperfect scenes to reveal the absurd, the dirty, the real, and the beautiful aspects within them.
