Confluence: 2025 BFA Thesis Exhibition

The Maine College of Art & Design 2025 BFA Thesis Exhibition, Confluence, brings together the work of 88 Seniors. This exhibition will encompass the Underground, First, Second, and Third Floors of MECA&D’s Porteous building. In addition, there will be a showcase of work by graduating Animation & Game Art majors: Changing Channels, located on the Underground level of the building.

The 2025 BFA Thesis Exhibition will be open to the public for First Friday Art Walk on May 2, from 5:00-8:00 pm.

Over the past four years, we’ve shared hallways, studios, classrooms, and the city of Portland. As we have studied and created art throughout the MECA&D campus, our paths have crossed in many ways– from exchanging smiles in the halls to forging lasting friendships and engaging in countless collaborations.

Much like the merging of streams in nature, Confluence is a gathering of these different paths and histories. Each senior brings unique ideas and approaches to their artistic practice, but for this brief moment, they come together in the halls of the Porteous building. This exhibition serves as one last confluence before our paths diverge and we embark on new adventures.
