October 3, 2023, will see the release of the new children's book Small Places, Close to Home, written by Deborah Hopkinson and illustrated by Kate Gardiner '20.

The story is inspired by The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, an international document adopted by the United Nations General Assembly that enshrines the rights and freedoms of all human beings.

The publication of Small Places, Close to Home marks Gardiner's professional debut as an illustrator. She is represented by Steven Malk of Writers House Literary Agency and is an advisory board member to the Illustration Institute. Please join us in congratulating Kate for this achievement!
