Welcome to Maine College of Art & Design

We are excited to welcome and assist you in your transition to the Maine College of Art & Design Community!

All incoming students are required to participate in New Student Orientation. During Orientation, you will learn all about the College and meet some awesome people in the process!

Orientation Information

We are excited to see you for new student move-in and the start of fall orientation. Fall orientation is an opportunity to meet new students, learn about academic and student supports, and start the semester.

New and Transfer BFA Students starting Fall 2024

  • BFA Orientation Schedule
  • Move-in Day is Thursday, August 22 from 8:30am–12:30pm
    Move-in times are assigned by floors and sent with your housing assignment by July 2024. Remember to check your email for important communications.
  • Orientation begins at 4:00pm on Thursday, August 22 for all students.
    Orientation goes through Sunday, August 25.
  • Classes begin Monday, August 26.
  • More details to come via your school email over the summer!

New and Returning MFA Students Summer 2024

  • Residence Hall Move-In Day is Thursday, June 6.
  • New MFA Student Orientation begins at 9:15am on June 6.
    Check-In at Porteous Building 522 Congress Street at 9am.
  • Returning MFA Student Orientation begins at 12:15pm on June 6. Check-In at Porteous Building 522 Congress Street at noon.
  • Orientation runs until 4:30PM.

Salt Students starting Fall 2024

  • Residence Hall Move-In Day is Sunday, August 25.
  • Orientation begins at 9:15am on Monday, August 26.
    Check-In at Porteous Building 522 Congress Street at 9am.
  • Orientation runs until 4:30pm.

MAT Students starting Summer 2024

  • Residence Hall Move-In Day is Sunday July 28.
  • Orientation begins at 9:15am on Monday, July 29.
    Check-In at Porteous Building 522 Congress Street at 9am.
  • Orientation runs until 4:30pm.

Course Schedule & Registration

Course Registration begins in June.

Once your schedule is finalized by the Registrar's Office, you will be able to view your courses on MyMECA&D.

Student Health Insurance

All students at Maine College of Art & Design taking nine or more credit hours are required to be covered by a health insurance policy that is valid in Maine. Students are automatically enrolled in and charged for Student Health Insurance unless proof of medical insurance is provided via the online waiver form found at crossagency.com/meca.
